Contributions
My role was focusing on user research, user experience, and user interface design. This project progressed into 4 weeks full on design-sprint approach working intimately with the EV owner and conducting user testing to tackle the problems. Besides, I translated the insights into the features, addressed problems by applying design solutions.
Objective
The main goal of this application is to help users to enhance their charging experience.
Buloo EV charging app provides information for users to find the optimal route of nearby EV charging stations. It also helps users to customize their schedules and manage their charging status effectively.
Challenge
• Identify main issues with Level 2 EV charger and charging experience then tackle problems and find solutions to improve user experience.
• Provide an optimal charging path with easier and user-friendly user experience.

INTRODUCTION
CONCEPT BACKGROUND
Electric vehicles (EV) have steadily increased over the years. The growth is accelerating as major automakers announce the transition to all-electric. Drawing from increasing EV adoption and expanding charging infrastructures, experts highlight that by the year 2022, electric vehicles will cost the same as their gasoline-driven equivalents. At that point, the sales of EV will take off.
This project is focused on improving user experience in using the Level 2 EV charging system.

PRIMARY RESEARCH
I conducted interviews with EV car users to understand their motivations and experiences with EV charging. I observed their use of the charger in their natural setting.

" Dave is a user who owns an EV car (Tesla X), his level of satisfaction towards Tesla is very high in general. He is satisfied with not having to buy gas and is also a big fan of its lines of the design. I asked a series of questions about his interaction with the cars. The questions were mostly open-ended to get a deeper understanding of his experience, and it allowed us to discover more than we expected."
USABILITY TESTING
I conducted usability testing to understand the path of current experience. From the first-person view to the third person view, I recorded the whole process to observe user behavior, understand main functions and features, and identify usability problems.

METHOD
The insights discovered in secondary and primary research on the level-2 charging system was sorted through and organized based on principles from Nielsen’s 10 Usability Heuristics and Shneiderman’s 8 Golden Rules. The technique allowed me to identify distinct clusters of problems and determine the next steps and further research.
