PRIMARY RESEARCH
USER INTERVIEWS
Context of User Study
In order to find the users need and their preference. I created a user interview to collect the data. The interview divided into two sides, one side was freshmen at Purdue, another one was the BGR faculty. My interview questionnaire contained 7 questions with an open question. The number of interviewers was 30 people. After the interview, I did the affinity diagram with 4 targets audience.

A freshman-year international student
"I was hoping to make some friends through BGR, but most of us stopped talking to each other after events"

A faculty at Purdue BGR
"I think the biggest challenge for the new students come to Purdue was they don't know everyone and they were not familiar with the campus environment."

RESEARCH FINDINGS

Communication Needs
Students expect to gain friendship through BGR, but they find hat team-building activities are boring and unnatural

Navigation Needs
Guided tours are beneficial for students to get to know about the campus, but they feel that they won’t be able to get orientated unless they explore the campus by themselves

Low-Participation
Students are lack of motivation to participate in some activities
